Accessing Contacts
While logged into your Voxie team, click Contacts in the top navigation bar and select All Contacts.
On this page is shown some information about each of your contacts. Refer to the numbered list below to identify each numbered element in the screenshot of this page.

This is the total count of contacts in your Voxie team.

This is where you can filter your contact list by contacts' Subscription Status and/or Tags.

You can type a name or phone number into the search bar to show any contact(s) matching the search (e.g., all contacts with a specific first name, or you can type a complete phone number to find a single matching contact).

In the Contact column is basic contact information, including their name (if stored for each contact, otherwise will appear as Anonymous) and when the contact was created in this team.

In the Identity column is the contact’s phone number. Each phone number must be unique per contact per team.

In the Segments column is how many Segments the contact is included in.

In the Tags column is the number of Tags the contact has.

The Status column shows the Subscription Status of the contact (Active, Paused, or Unsubscribed):

Active: can receive texts.

Paused: Voxie has placed this contact in a “paused” status, which prevents you from texting this contact. This happens when Voxie has received an error, usually directly from the contact's mobile carrier, while sending a message to this contact in the past.

Unsubscribed: cannot receive texts due to opting out or being manually unsubscribed.

The Actions button provides a menu you can use to interact more with the contact's profile, including Viewing the profile, Editing the contact, Unsubscribing (or Subscribing) the contact, and Deleting the contact.
Viewing a Contact
Viewing a contact's profile shows a more complete summary of their information, including all Custom Attributes, Tags, message history, and Campaigns they are currently in.

From the All Contacts page, use the search bar to search for a contact or use the contact pages to find them manually.

When you find the contact you want to view, click the Actions button and select View from the drop-down menu.
Viewing Contact Information
On the right side of the screen is the contact’s profile information. Refer to the numbered list below to identify each numbered element in the screenshot of this section.
- The contact’s name appears under a gray circle with their initials. Unnamed contacts will show Anonymous User and a person icon.
- This is the contact’s subscription status in a color-coded box (ACTIVE contacts are listed as green, PAUSED contacts orange, UNSUBSCRIBED contacts red).
- This is the date the contact was created in your Voxie team.
- To the right of the label Sticky Phone Number is your Voxie phone number that this contact receives your texts from.
- This is the contact’s phone number.
On the right side of the contact's profile are also buttons to Edit the contact (described in more detail below) or Close the profile.
Messages, Campaigns, Custom Attributes
On the left side of the screen is other information about this contact's history in your Voxie team, including their Messages, Campaigns, Custom Attributes, and Promotions.
- In the Messages section is all messaging history between this contact and your Voxie team, with the most recent message shown on the top.
- In the Campaigns section is a list of all non-archived Campaigns the contact is in.
- In the Custom Attributes section are all of the Custom Attributes stored on this contact's profile with the information stored in each one.
- In the Promotions section are any Promotions that have been applied to this contact, including the name of the Promotion in Voxie, the coupon they received, and the date and time it was allocated.
Editing a Contact
The Edit Contact page is where you can change most information stored on a contact.

From the All Contacts page, find the contact you'd like to edit. Click the Actions button and select Edit from the dropdown menu.
Alternatively, if you are already viewing the contact's profile, click the blue Edit button on the right side of the profile.

On this page, you can edit the contact’s first name, last name, phone number, email, Twitter handle, Facebook handle, or stored timezone. At the bottom of the page, you can add and remove Tags, as well as add, edit, and remove Custom Attributes.

When you are done editing any desired information, click the Update Contact button in the bottom right corner.
Unsubscribing a Contact
When contacts send a message indicating they would like to opt out of receiving your text messages, they are automatically unsubscribed. However, below are instructions for manually unsubscribing contacts if necessary.
- From the All Contacts page, find the contact you'd like to unsubscribe. Click the Actions button and select Unsubscribe from the dropdown menu.
- When you click Unsubscribe, an alert will appear to confirm this action.

If you want to unsubscribe the contact, click OK. If you do not want to unsubscribe the contact, click Cancel.
Deleting a Contact
You can delete contacts if necessary. Deleting contacts should be done with care, as this action cannot be undone.

From the All Contacts page, find the contact you'd like to delete. Click the Actions button and select Delete from the dropdown menu.

When you click Delete, an alert will appear to confirm this action.

If you are sure you want to delete a contact, click OK. If you do not want to delete the contact, click Cancel.

Deleting a contact is permanent. Be careful and double check that you have selected the correct contact that you want to delete!

Filtering Contacts
To view a smaller subset of your contact list from the All Contacts page, you can filter your contacts based on Subscription Status or Tags.

While logged into into your Voxie account, locate the navigation bar at the top of the screen. Click on the tab titled Contacts and select the first option in the dropdown, All Contacts.

Click the Filter icon.

Use the dropdowns for Status and/or Tags in the modal to include contacts that have the desired subscription status and/or tags.

After you have selected your desired filter(s), click Apply.

The list of contacts on the page is now updated from all of your contacts to only the contacts matching the applied filter(s).

To clear the filter to make a different selection, click the Filter icon again and click the Reset button.
Creating a New Contact
In addition to creating contacts by importing many at a time, you can create individual contacts manually.

While logged into into your Voxie account, locate the navigation bar at the top of the screen. Click on the tab titled Contacts and select the first option in the dropdown, All Contacts.

Click the + New Contact button in the upper right corner.

On the Create Contact page, fill in any information you wish to store on the contact's profile. Phone number is required, and additional information, while optional, is recommended for personalizing messages.

Tags and Custom Attributes can be added to the contact if applicable.

Click the Create Contact button in the bottom right corner to save the new contact
As a reminder, all contacts must have different phone numbers and two contacts cannot share the same phone number.
Exporting Contacts
Your complete contact list can be exported from the All Contacts page.
There are two different exports you can use:
- Lean Export, which contains basic information about your contacts, including name, phone number, and all tags and custom attributes.
- Standard Export, which contains all of the information included in the Lean Export, plus additional information, such as the numbers of inbound and outbound messages delivered, and a list of Campaigns the Contact has been included in.
Note that upon exporting, the contact export will be emailed to the email address of the user that owns the Voxie team.
To perform a contact export,
- From the All Contacts page, click the Lean Export button in the top right corner. The Lean Contact Export will always be the default export.

You can choose to switch to the Standard Export by clicking the down arrow on the Contact Export button.

The contact export will be emailed to the email address of the user that owns the Voxie team. If you are not the owner of the team, please contact the team owner to receive the file.

Once you receive the email for the contact export, you will be able to download the export as a CSV.
